View full programme

Guy Hans - Chief Medical Officer, Antwerp University Hospital

Short description of the presentation:

Pain is the most common clinical condition worlwide. Chronic pain (duration of more than 3 months) should be considered as a disease state, and not merely a symptom. Since chronic pain is almost impossible to heal, the focus should be placed on the prevention of chronification of acute pain syndromes. In this presentation I will present an innovative approach to the chronification of (post-surgical) pain by applying individualized therapeutic programs and long-term telemetric follow-up.
