The Leuven viral Vector Core (LVVC) is a full-service facility of the KU Leuven, dedicated to the development of customized viral vectors and related services for life science purposes. The LVVC has an extensive expertise in the design and production of γ-retroviral, lentiviral and adeno associated viral (AAV) vectors. We continuously update our vector platform with the latest technologies including CRISPR based genome editing. Our platform can be used for many applications like the generation of animal models and stable cell lines with over-expression or knockdown/out of the target of interest, target validation in vitro and in vivo and molecular imaging. Based on our vector technology, we have generated a robust and well-characterised pre-clinical rodent model and a phenotypic screening assay for Parkinson’s disease. Depending on the specific request and needs, we can provide fee-for-service activities or engage in bilateral collaborations.
