Angelique Van Ombergen is currently working at the European Space Agency (ESA) as Science Coordinator for Human Research. She holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, where she is currently still affiliated as a guest professor. She investigated how the brains of astronauts adapt to spaceflight. Apart from her core activities, she is a passionate science communicator. She has written three books, all published by Lannoo, of which two non-fiction books for children. Her research and science communication received several (inter)national awards.
