Erik De Clippel is Managing Partner of Degroof Petercam Investment Banking (Belgium) since May 2020. He joined Degroof Petercam in 2016 as Head of Syndication, after working 15 years at KBC Securities. Erik was involved in more than 100 capital markets transactions and has one of the broadest deal track records in Belgium. As deal captain in numerous capital market transactions, Erik has built up an extensive experience in structuring a transaction for success.
Erik has been involved in the IPOs and/or fundraisings of a large number of healthcare companies (Nyxoah, argenx, Galapagos, Onward Medical, Biocartis), many of which have meanwhile been acquired: Devgen, Movetis, Tigenix, Genticel / Genkyotex, Ablynx, Acacia Pharma
He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a post-graduate in finance from the University of Leuven (KUL). Erik is also a CFA® charterholder, CFA Institute, and was a board member of the CFA Society Belgium for 8 years.
Erik is member of the board of the Flanders Future Techfund. The Flanders Future Techfund will invest in technology platforms, stemming from research conducted at Flanders strategic research centers (imec, VIB, Vito, Flanders Make), universities (KULeuven, UGent, VUB, UAntwerpen, UHasselt) or spearhead clusters (Catalisti, SIM, VIL, Flanders Food, Blauwe cluster, Flux 50), with a view to a broad commercial valorisation. The fund starts with €75m, which can be extended with €300m in shareholder loans.
As a laureate of the Prince Albert Fund Business in Asia program, Erik worked and lived in China for one year in combination with an MBA exchange program at CEIBS.
