Geert Van Royen is currently working in the Food Pilot of the Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO) as Scientific Expert Product Quality and Innovation. He graduated as Master of Science in Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University and holds a PhD in the Chemistry Sciences from Ghent University, Belgium. At ILVO he is project leader in the Food Pilot of different projects about product innovation, quality and processing of meat products, amongst others, related to protein diversification and protein enrichment. The projects on protein diversification focus on proteins derived from plants, (micro)algae, micro-organisms and insects.
