Katleen holds a PhD in Chemistry and post-graduate in Coporate Finance from the KULeuven. She started her career heading one of the R&D and QA labs of Umicore, where she also was part of the Investor Relations team. She later joined McKinsey, focussing on strategy and M&A. She moved into Venture Capital, first as investment manager and later as Head of the Health&Care department at institutional investor LRM, where she was part of the team for 7 years. In 2020, together with Annie Vereecken and Herman Verrelst, she founded HERAN Partners and launched the first HERAN HealthTech Fund of 75Mio later that year. Currently Katleen is Managing Partner of HERAN Partners and sits on the boards of several healthtech ventures.
