Lieve Hoflack is valorization manager at the University of Antwerp. She obtained a Master in Biotechnology and a PhD in bacterial genetics from Ghent University. She was a postdoc at the University of TX health science center (UTHSC) and the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC) both in TX, USA. Lieve worked as researcher in start-up companies such as Dyax and the IMEC spin-off Vivactis. Lieve switched from research to project acquisition and worked as a consultant at Mint Europe, and later as project acquisition manager at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant playing a key role in the successful launch of this facility. Lieve also cofounded Calidris Bio, a company active in alternative protein production through fermentation.
